5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Exercise
Take a slow breath and look around you. Notice 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste or are grateful for. Move through each step slowly and gently. This simple exercise can help bring your attention back to the present moment.
Feet on the Floor Grounding
Sit comfortably with both feet resting on the floor. Notice the feeling of the ground beneath you and gently press your feet down. Take a few slow breaths and bring your attention to the support beneath your body. If your mind wanders, simply return your attention to your feet and the feeling of being supported in the present moment.
Gentle Slow Breathing
Sit comfortably and allow your shoulders to relax. Breathe in gently through your nose, then breathe out slowly without forcing the breath. Continue at a pace that feels comfortable for you for a few moments. If counting helps, you can breathe in for 3 and out for 4. Stop if you feel light-headed or uncomfortable and return to your normal breathing.
Pause & Notice
Take a moment to pause and notice what is around you. Feel where your body is supported, notice your breathing, and gently name one thing you can see, one thing you can hear and one thing you can feel. You do not need to change anything — simply notice the present moment.

Feel the change within
After using these exercises, you may notice that you feel a little calmer, more settled or more connected to the present moment. Your breathing may feel slower or your body may feel more relaxed. There is no right or wrong response — simply use the exercises as gentle tools to support everyday wellbeing.
